Virtue Farm is interested in working with the local community in ways to promote and generate sustainability, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint. One of our goals is to share our experiences with others to generate interest and knowledge of sustainable food production and lifestyle. Our farm has sensational views of K'Gari (Fraser Island), with many of our guest loving the sunrise and sunset views and colours.
We want to share knowledge and practices through education, tourism, partnerships and homestays. There are three ways you can stay and learn with us. As a volunteer, AirBnB guest or being a fully self sustained camper. Bookings are essential.
Fifteen years ago, we started our vegetable and fruit garden using permaculture principles based on Linda Woodrow’s methods. We have been growing fruit and vegetables organically ever since where chickens are part of the garden, and recycling and reusing are premium. We use everything we can on our farm, through composting, mulching, feeding to chickens, or re-purposing. We have loved the journey and the bounty this has supplied. Now, we are scaling this up to a small farm and want to share our way of life with others.
Our farm is 33 acres, with 27 registered with Land for Wild Life as it is home to some important remnant forest and amazing wildlife.
